I am a spayed female, tan and black German Shepherd Dog.
Age: I am an adult animal
More Info: I am available for adoption now!
Meet Gertrude! Gertrude is a 6 year old German Shepherd who was rescued from the Kern County shelter, where she was at risk of being euthanized. It is clear Gertrude has not had the easiest life. She appears to have been overbred and came into rescue needing some extra care, but what has stood out most is just how happy, friendly, and loving she is. Gertrude is a wonderful dog with a gentle nature and a big heart. She enjoys being around people, gets along well with other dogs, and has a cheerful, affectionate personality that makes her easy to love. A few things to know about Gertrude: • Happy and friendly • Loving and affectionate • Gentle with people • Good with other dogs • House trained • Ready for a calmer, more comfortable life • Deserves a family who will make her part of their world Gertrude has spent enough of her life being used for puppies. Now it is finally her turn to be someone’s beloved companion. She deserves a soft bed, kind people, regular walks, and a home where she can relax and enjoy the life she should have had all along. Currently fostered in Davis, CA. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more!
