Meet Licorice - The Sweet Treat with Extra Ears!
If you`ve ever wondered what would happen if a Labrador mix came with
premium satellite-dish ears, wonder no more-meet Licorice! Those adorable
ears seem to have one important mission: listening for treat bags opening
from three blocks away... although she's still deciding whether those treats
are actually worth eating because this girl is a bit of a food critic.
Licorice is a 3-year-old spayed Labrador Retriever mix who recently got her
freedom after being involved in a court case. She came to the shelter with
her pals, Cash and Freedom, and after patiently waiting for their chance,
they`re finally ready to start the next chapter of their lives. Now Licorice
is hoping her happy ending includes a comfy couch, loving humans, and maybe
a bench or two to supervise the neighborhood.
This sweet girl is incredibly easy to handle. She slips right onto leash,
strolls nicely by your side, and is happiest simply hanging out with her
people. During walks she`s calm and relaxed, and when it`s time for a break,
she`ll happily stretch out in the shade like she`s on a tropical vacation.
If there`s a bench nearby, don`t be surprised if she hops up beside you-it`s
her preferred VIP seating area. She also thinks laps are perfectly
acceptable furniture and isn`t shy about climbing in for cuddles and handing
out plenty of kisses.
Licorice is very social with other dogs and loves visiting with her friends.
She`s played with Cash and Freedom many times at the shelter and has a great
time, although her play style can be a little enthusiastic. If you already
have a dog, we`d love for you to bring them by for a meet and greet to make
sure everyone clicks.
She hasn`t mastered `sit` just yet, but she`s gentle when taking treats
(even if she`s a little picky about the menu). She`s eager to spend time
with people and would really enjoy a positive training class-it`ll be a fun
way to build confidence, learn new tricks, and strengthen your bond.

oversized heart, and just the right amount of goofy charm, Licorice is ready
