Description: My name is Ben and I am a neutered male, brown and white Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd Dog.
I have been available for adoption since Jul 10, 2026.
I have been available for adoption since Jul 10, 2026.
Age: The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old.
Weight: I weigh approximately 63.30 lbs.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 10, 2026.
Meet Ben, a 4-year-old neutered male Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix
who was surrendered when his owner had to move.
Ben is friendly, affectionate, and comes when called, especially when
there`s a chance snacks are involved. He knows sit and shake, and he has
taken things to the next level by offering both paws at once. Why shake with
one paw when you can give the deluxe two-paw version? He`s very treat
motivated and takes treats gently, because even a professional snack
enthusiast has manners. Ben also seems to know stay and leave it, although
his definition of `stay` is more of a strong suggestion than a binding
contract. He`ll do it. just not for terribly long.
When it comes to affection, Ben is all in. He leans right into you for pets,
making it pretty clear that he believes you should keep your hands exactly
where they are. He has decided that being handsome, friendly, and treat-motivated is a
perfectly respectable career choice. And honestly? He`s right. He`ll chase toys and pick them up, but don`t expect him to
bring them back-fetch is apparently beneath his job description. He`s also
not particularly interested in entertaining himself with toys.
Ben is recommended for kids 12+ due to his size and activity level. While
his previous owner reported that he was friendly with dogs, a meet and greet
with other dogs is recommended so introductions can be done at his own pace.
Ben is a sweet, people-loving guy with a great mix of good manners, goofy
charm, and snack-powered enthusiasm. If you`re looking for a dog who will
come when called, offer you both paws, enjoy a car ride, lean in for
affection, and happily work for treats, Ben is ready to clock in!
