Meet Arlo, a 1-year-old spayed Australian Cattle Dog mix who is proof that
shy girls can still have a seriously fun side! Arlo is part of the shelter`s
Shy Dog Program and has made some wonderful progress. She can still be a
little unsure in new situations or with new people, but she`s learning that
the world isn`t quite as scary as it first appeared.
Shelter noise is definitely not Arlo`s favorite thing. When the barking
starts, she tends to head straight for the end of the leash like she has
somewhere very important to be. Once she`s away from all the commotion,
however, she walks much better and can relax and enjoy herself.
Arlo came in with her buddy Aqua, and these two love to run, play, and
explore together. But Arlo also did just fine when separated from Aqua, so
she doesn`t need a canine sidekick.
Her previous family reported that Arlo was surrendered
because of a family emergency.
Arlo is looking for a patient family who will let her continue building
confidence at her own pace. Give her some time, a little encouragement, and
a chance to get away from the shelter chaos, and you`ll get to see the
happy, playful, curious girl hiding underneath the shy exterior. Her
progress has already been wonderful-and being part of her next chapter could
be pretty rewarding!
