I have been available for adoption since May 15, 2026.
Age: The shelter thinks I am about 4 years old.
Weight: I weigh approximately 50.00 lbs.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since May 15, 2026.
Butch is a 5-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who has been through a lot lately. He came to the shelter with his sister, Fraulein, after their owner passed away. Understandably, Butch was very scared when he first arrived and wasn't quite sure what to make of all the changes in his life. The good news? Once he realized the volunteers were on Team Butch, he started showing everyone what a sweet boy he really is. These days, he's easy to leash, enjoys spending time with people, and happily soaks up affection from his favorite humans.
Butch walks nicely on leash and knows how to sit, proving he's got some good manners already. He also loves treats... perhaps a little too enthusiastically. Let's just say he's still working on the difference between "take the treat" and "vacuum up the treat." A little training and consistency will go a long way. When it comes to other dogs, Butch seems friendly and interested in meeting his canine neighbors. He's shown positive interest in several dogs in nearby play yards, but the shelter recommends a meet and greet with any resident dogs to make sure everyone gets along.
His family reported that he was housebroken and crate trained, which is a great foundation as he transitions into a new home. Butch may have arrived as a nervous guy, but every day he's gaining confidence and showing more of his loving personality. If you're looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little help remembering that the world is a good place, Butch is ready to start his next chapter with you.
