Severance is a 1-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is currently participating in the shelter's Shy Dog Program. When he first arrived, he wasn't convinced that the world was a very safe place, but he gets a little braver every time he leaves his kennel. Each outing helps him build confidence and show more of his personality. Once he feels comfortable, Severance is a sweet, playful, and affectionate young dog who enjoys spending time with people. He is extremely treat motivated, which makes him eager to learn and a great candidate for continued training.
Severance has played with another dog at the shelter and has shown friendly interest in multiple dogs through the fence. A meet and greet is recommended with any resident dogs to ensure a good match. At just one year old, Severance is still learning about the world and would benefit from training, confidence-building, and plenty of bonding time with his new family. With patience, encouragement, and a pocket full of treats, this charming young dog is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.
