Meet Rico — The Handsome Pittie Who’s Ready to Trade Shelter Life for the Good Life!
Rico is a 3-year-old Pit Bull mix with a big heart, a sweet face, and a tail that has plenty to say! This lovely boy can be a little unsure when faced with new experiences, but once he realizes you're a friend, he’s ready to soak up the good stuff—especially pets, attention, and a little spa time.
Rico is a fan of being pampered and did wonderfully when a volunteer gave him a bath. He enjoys grooming, affection, and spending time with his people. Like many shelter dogs, the kennel environment can be stressful for him, and he definitely lets you know that going back to his kennel is not his favorite activity. (Can you blame him? He’d much rather be hanging out with you!)
On leash, Rico is still learning and can be a little hesitant at first. He’ll need a family willing to help him build confidence and continue his leash skills. Once he’s out exploring, his sweet personality starts to shine.
Rico has shown relaxed interest in other dogs, with friendly tail wags and calm greetings through the fence. He can be forward during dog introductions, so a meet and greet is recommended to make sure everyone feels comfortable.
This adorable pittie is looking for someone who will give him patience, encouragement, and plenty of love. In return, Rico promises to bring his goofy charm, sweet cuddles, and a whole lot of heart.
