Meet Joe!
Joe has one very important message for everyone who walks past his kennel:
`Excuse me... I`d like to file an official request for immediate release!`
Shelter life just isn`t his style, and he`s pretty convinced there has been
a mistake. Once he`s out, though, you`ll discover he`s really just a big
softie who was eager to get to the good part-spending time with people.
This 4-year-old German Shepherd mix is friendly, loving, and affectionate.
He`ll happily lean into you for pets like he`s known you forever. Joe also
has brains to match his good looks-he already knows sit, down, and leave it,
takes treats gently, and is always happy to earn another snack.
Joe`s favorite kind of outing isn`t hanging around a play yard-it`s a good
old-fashioned sniffy walk. Give him a leash and a trail to explore, and he`s
in his happy place. If you stop too long in one spot, he`ll politely let you
know it`s time to keep the adventure going with a gentle paw that says,
`Come on... there are smells waiting for us!`
He walks nicely on leash unless the shelter dogs are putting on one of their
barking concerts. Outside of the shelter environment, Joe tends to ignore
other dogs and even enjoyed walking alongside another dog. A meet and greet
with any resident dogs is still recommended to make sure everyone starts off
on the right paw.
