Animal information
A301702
Located At: Animal Rescue League of Boston – Boston Shelter
Description: I am a neutered male, black Domestic Shorthair.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 1 month old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 16, 2026.
MEET MARCUS!
I'm looking for:
- a quiet/low traffic household, teens and older
- someone with cat experience willing to help me transition to my new home
- possibly a social cat friend
Marcus came to us from an overcrowding situation, meaning he has spent much of his life in the company of many other cats, but not as much time interacting with humans. Under these circumstances, a cat may be more shy than a “typical” cat - and this is true for Marcus. As he adjusts to shelter life, Marcus is slowly warming up to human interaction, including head/chin pets. Marcus will benefit from a cat-savvy, patient adopter, willing to take the time to build trust as he transitions to his new home. He may benefit from another confident cat to learn from. If you think you can help Marcus build the confidence he needs to be his best cat-self, please stop by to meet him.
Marcus has been seen by our vet team and is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea/tick preventative, has been neutered, and microchipped.
For more information on Marcus or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.
