Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 02, 2026.
Meet Peter!
Oh Peter - He's a very special boy! Weighing 123 pounds he's a hunka hunka burnin' love! He was found as a stray but we are convinced he had to have had a home in a previous life because he comes fully loaded with some knowledge of basic cues like sit, paw, name game and walks fairly well on leash. He has been doing well keeping his kennel clean so we believe he is house trained. He is very friendly to all people! He especially loves our staff and volunteers to the point where he can be exuberant jumping on them so we are helping him learn to be more polite! If you have been looking to welcome an extra large dog into your home then Peter is the one! He's sweet, fun, playful, friendly, snuggly, happy and an overall very good boy. Fair warning to those with small kids - Peter doesn't realize how large he actually is so there is a risk to him knocking down small kids. Is Peter the Mastiff mix you have always wanted? If so, drop by our Dedham branch to meet this one - he's a gem!
Peter is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.
We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.
