Bio: "Dolce" is the Italian word for sweet, and we’ve got a girl who is as sweet and fun as they come! She spent several weeks in a foster home- here’s what we learned:
- She was a quiet house guest and was perfectly well- behaved when left home alone
- She’s a passenger princess who likes to have stairs to get into the car and is an excellent copilot
- She loves to snuggle but then sleep in her own dog bed
- She is house and crate trained
- She is cuddly, loving, fun and obedient
- She loves to play tug
“Dolce is very food motivated. She knows how to catch a treat in the air from any angle!! She’s respectful. She has met several new people and has been great with them all. She doesn’t jump when excited. She’s a loud snorer, it so dang adorable!”
Here’s what some of Dolce’s fans at the shelter have said:
“Another volunteer and I took Dolce on a day trip. She was the best company! But that’s not a surprise because she’s a total sweetheart. Once in the car she was a calm passenger and we stopped for a pup cup. I held the cup while she gobbled it up, and she was completely comfortable with that arrangement. We went on a couple of walks in different parks. She calmly walked on a loose leash without any pulling. She loved smelling some new spots. We took a few breaks, and she enjoyed being pet and getting scratches (she especially likes having her neck and under her chin rubbed). She’ a very mellow, loving, and lovable dog!”
“Dolce was nice and calm in her kennel, easy to leash and walked with a loose leash at a very slow pace. She’s definitely not a dog that’s in a hurry! When I sat on a bench, she sat right in front of me, enjoyed being petted and took treats from my hand very gently.”
“Dolce is an absolute sugar lump! She was super easy to leash up in her kennel and walk over to a play yard. Once in the yard we did all kinds of fun things! She showed me her very very good “sit” for a treat. She chased a ball around. She snuggled up against me as I sat on a bench and when I got onto the ground, she flopped over onto her side showing me her belly so that I could give her belly rubs. She is the total package- playful, mellow, affectionate and gorgeous! She is looking forward to spending her latter years as a beloved, well cared for family member. She deserves it!”
Dolce would like to meet any potential future furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit. She’s a friendly, affectionate, smart and social pup who would likely fit right into any family. Come and meet her today- you won’t regret it!
