Bio: The following recipe is for the sweet and fruity “Maple Jack” cocktail: 2 oz bourbon, 1 oz orange juice, .5 oz lemon juice, .5 oz maple syrup, orange. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and stir until chilled. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with an orange peel. While this niche cocktail may be a favorite to some, we think our pup Maple Jack will appeal to a much broader audience! Here’s the recipe for our Maple Jack: 3 parts excellent walker, 2 parts sweetness, 1 part old soul, 1 part gentle spirit.

Maple Jack recently spent a little time in a foster home and we learned some great things about him! His foster said that he was friendly, happy, excited, playful and interactive once he got comfortable (it didn’t take long!). He was house trained and was well- behaved when left home alone, mostly resting in his bed. He was a perfect jogging buddy and an angel on leash and he loved bones and treats.

MJ’s volunteer friends love taking him for relaxed walks, sharing:

“Maple Jack was calm when I went into his kennel and it was easy to get his leash on. Out in the park, he mostly walked with a loose leash, pulling only occasionally when he wanted to smell something. When I sat on a bench, he climbed up next to me, took some treats and then was ready to move on. He’s pretty treat-motivated so I think he could learn new things quickly. He was easy to re-kennel, and ignored the other dogs on our way back in.”

“This was my first time meeting Maple Jack. He is such a handsome dog. He was easy to leash up and on our lake adventure just wanted to sniff and do his business. I love the splatter of white fur on his face and legs - it looks like paint splatter. He is still working on his sit command and takes treats gently.”

Maple Jack also recently enjoyed a day trip and got a rave review:

“Maple Jack is the sweetest most handsome dog ever. He gets scared while getting in the car but once he’s in, he’s the calmest boy ever. Likes to take naps!!!”

Maple Jack would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. If you’re looking for a steady, trainable, middle-aged pup with whom to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, look no further than Maple Jack! He’d love to get into a safe and comfortable home where he can relax with his people. He’s ready to meet you today!
