Meet Bruno!
Bruno is a 9-year-old Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix who is ready to find the stable, loving home he can call his own.
Bruno came into the shelter with his two dog siblings. Both of them have already found their forever homes, and now Bruno is patiently waiting for his turn. At 9 years old, he deserves a family who will give him the time, patience, and consistency he needs to truly settle in and enjoy his golden years.
Bruno is a sweet, gentle guy who takes a little time to feel comfortable. New people and new surroundings can be overwhelming for him, so he does best with someone who understands that trust isn’t built overnight. Once Bruno warms up to you, you’ll see a completely different side of him — he happily accepts pets and may even roll over and offer you his belly for rubs.
He’s an absolute dream at night. He’s completely potty trained and sleeps quietly next to your bed without making a peep. He would love a peaceful, predictable routine where he can finally relax and know that he’s home.
During the day, Bruno is still learning that being alone is okay. He’s not a big fan of being crated when his people leave because, honestly, he’d much rather be with you. His future family should be prepared to help him slowly build confidence with alone time and continue working with him at his own pace.
Bruno is dog-friendly with proper introductions, but he cannot live in a home with cats.
And if you’re looking for a four-legged road trip buddy, Bruno is your guy! He absolutely loves car rides and is the perfect co-pilot. He’s so quiet and relaxed in the car that you’ll sometimes forget he’s even there.
He’s not particularly impressed by bath time, but he tolerates having his nails trimmed — which, for a dog who is still learning to trust people, is a pretty big win!
Bruno isn’t especially treat-motivated right now. Because he’s still nervous about taking things from people’s hands, he may politely decline treats. But give this boy a pup cup or a donut, and you’ve found the way to his heart.
What Bruno is looking for:
•A stable, consistent, patient home
•Someone willing to let him warm up at his own pace
•A home that can provide proper introductions with other dogs
• NO cats
•Someone who appreciates a quiet bedtime companion
•A family who doesn’t mind bringing along their new co-pilot
• A person who understands that senior dogs can need a little extra time and reassurance
Bruno may not be the dog who runs up to greet every stranger with a wagging tail. He’s the dog who quietly earns your trust — and once he does, it’s incredibly special.
After everything he’s been through, Bruno is still waiting.
His siblings have found their people. Now it’s Bruno’s turn.
If you’re looking for a loyal senior companion and are willing to give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe, Bruno may be the perfect match. He has so much love left to give, and he deserves to spend the rest of his life knowing what it feels like to truly be home.
