Hi, I'm Willie Mae, and I'm beautiful!
I'm also the kind of girl who just wants to be wherever YOU are. If you’re busy, I’ll curl up and give you space. They call me a "shadow dog" because I’m pretty chill but keep an eye on you, AND I make sure you get to the bathroom safely. If you're looking for a calm, soulful, loyal best friend who loves simply being with you, I’m your girl. I mean- who wouldn’t want THAT?

I'm the total package:

• Potty trained
• Crate trained
• Calm, Non-destructive
• Certified lovebug
• Easy to train – Barkbusters trainer has committed to continuing training with me as a favor to my adopter. I’m THAT good.

I LOVE to learn. If you have treats, you've got my attention! In fact, I have quite the vocabulary- sit, stay, come, stop, wait, leave it, paw… sigh… my foster Mom talks A LOT! I’ll do anything for food! She even enrolled me in BARKBUSTERs
Training, and it’s teaching me manners I never learned before. In fact, the teacher has committed to continuing training throughout my adoption to ensure I’m the smartest, most well-behaved dog in the class- I’m very goal oriented, and the teacher said I’m at the top of the class!

By the way, I have a great "on/off" switch. I love getting outside for long walks, hikes, or even a jog, and I can easily keep up for miles. My foster Mom brags on me saying that watching me run is like watching a stallion. What can I say, I got it going on. But once we're home, I'm ready to relax. I love meeting new people out there, like “hey, wazzup” gentle nose nudge. They dig it.

I like to play ...for a few minutes, but…whatever. I'm not much of a fetch enthusiast, I’d rather entertain myself with my toys. Ok ok, I get cute zoomies when I’m feeling playful—but don't worry, nothing gets knocked over!

The doctor said I have something called Heartworm, but I’m getting doxycycline to get rid of it. Thank goodness. Otherwise, I’m healthy and strong.

Ok, so a little more about me… You can trust me in the house. I don’t NEED to be crated, but I don’t mind it either. I like having a nice home, so I don’t mess anything up. When my foster people come home, I don't even bark—I just meet them at the door with a wagging tail and a big smile. At night, I sleep as long as you do.

Here's another bonus: I hardly shed at all! That's been wonderful for my foster Dad with dog allergies. He doesn't sneeze at all. Less fur to clean up means more time for cuddles, and bath time is quick and easy.

I've had positive interactions with other dogs through the fence, at doggy daycare, and during parallel walks. My foster mom doesn't have dogs of her own, so I get her all to myself. She thinks I'd be happiest as your one and only dog, but I don’t know, maybe I would like a friend? I think I'd do ok with slow, thoughtful introductions. I'd also do best in a home without cats, and if there are children, I'd prefer they be 16 years or older. Small kid energy is just …weird.

I promise to give you my whole heart.
