Levi is a fluffy grey tabby with a loving and lazy heart. His big puppy dog eyes make him incredibly cute and kitten like despite his, lazy, and a pinch of grumpy. Levi came to his foster home shut down, and lacking any trust in humans after being utterly confused of how he ended up there.

Levi loves many things. He loves catnip toys, sleeping in a window hammock, climbing cat trees, laying like a loaf of bread, sniffing your shoes and toes to see where you’ve been, observing his foster mom’s chihuahuas, napping, all the pets, slow blinking, churu, and most of all, being brushed. Levi loves a new catnip toy - inspecting it thoroughly then rubbing all over it, and then holding it with his front paws and kicking it with his back. When he has a catnip mouse toy, he’s just a baby having a good time and being silly! He loves sleeping in the window hammock, first observing the outdoors, then grooming himself before getting into loaf position for a long snooze. He enjoys venturing up on the cat tree even though he’s a little bigger than the platforms. He hasn’t made it all the way to the top but has traveled to the mid sections to take extensive naps. He loves to sniff and fully inspect your fingers, toes, socks and shoes to get a full history of your smell and where you’ve been since he last saw you. So far, Levi is very interested in his foster mom’s two chihuahuas and he runs to the puppy gate separating them to greet, observe, and smell them. He has not hissed or swatted at them through the gate.

Levi loves to be pet and given scritches, happy to receive those for as long as you’re willing! He loves a cat treat, his favorite being churu of course! But Levi’s favorite thing is being brushed. He gets excited when the brush comes out and when you stop, he reaches for the brush to ask for me. He purrs so much while being brushed and appreciates you getting all the spots he can’t reach. He particularly loves being brushed on his neck and cheeks! He throws himself at the brush when you’re using it on those spots which makes everyone laugh and slightly confused of how that could possibly feel good, but we don’t question the wise Levi. His eyes are so big and cute, and his strut so labored with life experience, you just know that he has it figured out so there’s no need to doubt him!

Levi enjoys greeting his foster mom when she enters the room and saying goodbye as she leaves, with his cute and raspy meows. He sits right in the middle of talkative cats, leaning more to the quiet side.

So far, Levi allows his people to pick him up as needed, but he’s not a big fan of it so his foster mom limits it to the as-needed basis. Levi lives in the foster room at his foster mom’s house. Recently, she has left the door open, with a puppy gate up and a set of stairs to allow Levi to leave if he so chooses. So far, Levi is content to stay in his safe space but occasionally (like very very occasionally) requests company by meowing at the puppy gate.

Levi uses the litter box like the refined gentlemen he is. He currently eats softened dry kibble as while he is eating harder kibble, he seems to be at war, trying to find a good place in his mouth to chew it, so wetted dry kibble or soft food is the way to go for Levi.

Levi’s foster mom’s suspects that Levi has some arthritis and occasionally, he get spicy when he turns to quickly or makes a big jump and hisses, more at the world than you in particular, because he gets a zing of pain. Levi has started on supplements for joint pain which seems to help.

Levi is wonderful because he’s a loving, adorable, puppy dog eyed boy and a wise, slightly wobbly, slightly curmudgeon old man in one body. Deep down though, he’s just a kitty who just wants to be loved and nap in the sun in his forever home.

Levi would be great in many types of homes. Because he is interested in the foster families dogs, I think he would be a candidate for homes with respectful dogs! He would also do fantastic as an only pet as he is low energy and doesn’t necessarily need a play companion. Levi is untested with other cats but because of his interest in the loud dog roommates he has, his foster mom suspects he could make a cat sibling work. Due to his occasional spiciness and old age, he is not recommended for homes with small children. Older children who understand he has boundaries and that his love may take some time to understand would be totally great.
