Meet Mr. Bear
Mr. Bear is a nervous boy who is absolutely blossoming, and his goofy, sweet personality is shining through more every day. He came to us needing time and patience — when we first brought him home, we had to carry him inside because he was too scared to walk on his own. But he has never once shown a single ounce of aggression, even in his most frightened moments.
Mr. Bear is gentle around other dogs — calm, accepting, and curious about our resident pack of one big dog and one small dog, with zero conflict. He's calm and cooperative for baths and brushing, sleeps soundly through the night without any trouble, and has never had a single accident in the house.
He does have some sensitivities that we think come from a difficult past — leashes and walking make him nervous, and he's not quite ready for that yet. Right now, he's comfortable going to the bathroom in our backyard, and that's more than enough for him. He'll need a home willing to go at his pace and build trust slowly, without rushing him into things he's not ready for.
But underneath the nerves, Mr. Bear is such an easy, joyful dog. He loves butt scratches, he loves his food, and he lets a little bit of husky shine through with happy vocal noises — he "talks" when you come home and when it's mealtime. He's affectionate, food-motivated, goofy, and endlessly sweet.
Mr. Bear is looking for someone patient — someone who understands that trust takes time, and who will let him move at his own pace in a calm, consistent environment. Once he feels safe, we think he's going to be an incredibly loving, easygoing companion. He just needs the right person to help him get there.
