Nutmeg is approximately 6 months old and around 60 lbs. She is a very sweet, affectionate, people-oriented puppy and would be best described as a “Velcro dog.”
She loves being with her person and seeks out affection and attention.
She is housebroken and signals when she needs to go outside.
She knows some basic commands and is already showing significant improvement with just a few days in a foster home.
She is very responsive to structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
Nutmeg is very playful with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with another playful, appropriate dog. She enjoys having a dog companion to play with.
I believe she would also do well in a home with older children who understand how to interact appropriately with a young, energetic dog.
She is a high-energy puppy and will need a family who is willing to continue working with her on training, manners, and impulse control.
She is young and was recently in the shelter, so she is still learning how to be a dog in a home environment.
However, she has already made a lot of progress in just a few days outside of the shelter and has shown that she is eager to learn.
She is playful, affectionate, smart, and very people-focused.
With someone willing to put in the time and effort with her training, I believe she will continue to make great progress.
