Shorty is an 8-year-old female dog who is facing a serious medical situation and urgently needs someone willing to advocate for her. Shorty has a suspected cancerous mass on her left front leg (LF). The mass is uncomfortable and is already affecting her gait, making it difficult for her to move normally. She will need a surgical procedure, and based on her medical evaluation, amputation is likely. At 8 years old, Shorty should be spending her days feeling safe and loved — not struggling with a painful mass. If you can't foster or adopt, PLEASE SHARE Shorty's story. Her person may be out there right now, and one share could be the connection that changes everything for her.
Due to limited shelter resources and specialty medical needs, this animal is currently at risk for euthanasia. If interested in assisting this animal, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.
