Today, we are asking for your help for a very special boy named Canelo. Canelo is only one year old, and despite being such a young dog with his whole life ahead of him, he is facing a painful medical challenge that will require surgery. Canelo has been diagnosed with a luxated right hip, which means his hip joint has become dislocated. This is a serious injury that can affect his ability to walk comfortably, move around, and enjoy the everyday activities that a young dog should be able to experience. Canelo will need surgery to address his injury and give him the best possible chance at recovery. We want Canelo to have the opportunity to recover, regain his mobility, and enjoy life as the young dog he is. Your compassion can make a real difference in the life of a dog who deserves every opportunity to heal.
This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering or rescuing this dog, email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please leave a callback number.
