Pierre came to us after repeatedly biting his cagemate. He is neutered but still does not like other pigs. He prefers to live by himself. He is making progress with people. He has bitten in the past, but he is settling down and will allow us to pet him now. He can be picked up but doesn't love it, however he does not try to bite when picked up. We are continuing to work on his comfort and confidence. He would do best with an owner who is willing to earn his trust and affection. He was an angel at the vet for his nail trim and did not fuss at all! Adopters are okay to have children in the home but we do not recommend him for handling by younger children (animal savvy, respectful middle school+ children are okay) due to his history. He could be a great buddy for a patient teen or adult willing to work with him to gain his trust. Our adoption fee for solo guinea pigs is $40. We can meet for adoptions within 1 hour of Minneapolis or Faribault, MN. Potentially further- please inquire and we can discuss.
