Meet Ella — A Diamond in the Rough Who Is Learning to Trust Ella is a gorgeous 5½-year-old light-red Field Golden and a retired breeding mom who is discovering what it means to be part of a loving family. When Ella first arrived in foster care, she hid in the farthest corner of the yard and would retreat if anyone looked her way. Four months later, she is staying close to her foster family, exploring her surroundings, and even approaching for an occasional gentle sniff or kiss. Those little kisses are huge milestones for this sweet girl! Ella loves walks, rides calmly in the car, sleeps through the night, and follows her foster dog siblings outside. She is still learning about house-training and can be startled by sudden movements and everyday city sounds. Ella needs a patient, quiet home with a securely fenced yard and a confident medium-to-large resident dog to help her feel safe. Children in the home will need to be 15+ for this sweet girl. Her family will need to move slowly, respect her boundaries, and celebrate the small victories as she builds confidence. After five years as a breeding mom, Ella deserves the chance to experience kindness, comfort, and the security of a forever home.
