Pewter is a very sweet and smart girl with a lot of personality. She will do well in a home where her family is patient with her and allows her to come to them on her own terms. Pewter is curious and inquisitive. She's a brave girl who is often the first one out of her little house to greet you in the morning, and to come up and sniff your hand, knees, and feet! She loves hanging out in her litter box and munching hay, and sitting in a bun loaf inside her hidey house. You will often see her little eye peeking out at you from one of the windows! Pewter is still somewhat shy and hesitant about being petted, but will take treats from her foster mom's fingers, and eat, groom herself, and take a nap with her foster mom sitting close by. She loves to 'laugh' (shakes her ears and gives a little hop) when she knows food is coming, and when her foster mom joins her and her sister in their enclosure for hang out time. Pewter enjoys being read and sung to, and relaxes the most during these times. Favorite treats: Oxbow hay treats (favorite flavor is apple banana), banana slices Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy Hay, fruit occassionally Favorite toys and activities: Activities: hanging out in her litter box and munching hay; napping in her hidey house; favorite toys - cat balls, cardboard tubes, wooden and hay chews Potty trained: Litter box trained This animal’s daily routine: Morning - pellets, fresh hay and water; Evening - dinner salad, hang out time with foster mom; Night - hay and water refresh, small treat before lights out. Mid week - scoop out and refresh litter box litter where soiled. Once a week - full litter box and pen clean out. BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Viridian & Pewter are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cat and rabbit in previous foster home - got along well. Shares current foster home with a rabbit and guinea pigs, but does not have direct interaction with them. Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Yes, with elementary aged child in previous foster home. Interacted well. Health concerns: None Behavioral concerns: Pewter is in the trust training program for general shyness. Sitting in her pen and speaking, singing, or reading softly has helped her come out and explore more frequently. Pewter has started to take treats from my fingers, and will sniff me when I'm sitting in her pen. She responds well to treats, saying hi back to her (bowing your head), making slow movements, and praising her in a soft voice. Other notes: Viridian & Pewter came to MNPPR after being found outside. Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Eagan PetSmart - 1297 Promenade Pl, Eagan, MN 55121 for meet & greets, & adoptions. Fee: Viridian & Pewter have a combined adoption fee of $175 We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask. Viridian & Pewter's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored. If you would like to donate to provide veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment for Viridian & Pewter or other pocket pets in the care of MNPPR, please visit https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/sponsor-a-pocket-pet for more information.
