Age: I am a young animal
More Info: I am available for adoption now!
Hi there! I’m Mint, a 2-year-old, 34# Border Collie with a big heart, a clever mind, and an impressive talent for running victory laps around the yard with my favorite toy. I’m medium energy, easy to live with and ready to find my very own home. My favorite place in the world is wherever my person is. I’m a devoted, affectionate girl who loves being close to the humans I trust. Tummy rubs and cuddling beside you on the couch are my favorite. You’ll see the real me when I feel safe, connected, and included in your life. I’m a sensitive soul and ask for a gentle approach, patience, and a predictable schedule help me shine. I enjoy walks on leash, romping around a securely fenced yard and carrying toys from place to place. I’m intelligent and engaged and fully enjoy one-on-one time with my person playing or learning something new. That’s all it takes to be well on our way to becoming a terrific team! I am kind and gentle with the older dogs in my foster home, and would enjoy having a playful canine sibling who wants some company. I’m reliably housebroken and prefer to take care of business in a fenced area rather than on leash. I’m also more comfortable in an exercise pen than a traditional crate at home. A few things to know about me: I’m not especially fond of men at first, but with time and familiarity, I can learn to trust them. Initially, I would do best with a woman as my primary caregiver. A quieter rural or suburban home with a consistent routine would suit me beautifully. I could live with older, respectful kids. Not sure what I would think of cats. Could you be the person who helps me feel secure, discover new adventures, and enjoy all the cuddles a girl could want? I have a whole lot of love to give, and I’m ready to share it with someone special. Mint is being fostered in Brainerd, MN. APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Her adoption fee is $450 plus Minnesota tax. Mint is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
