Berkeley has a way of working his way into your heart.
Estimated to be about 6 years old, this handsome brindle boy carries a certain maturity about him. Maybe it’s the calm way he watches the world, or the friendly way he greets everyone like an old friend. Berkeley truly knows no strangers.
But what really stands out is how much he comes alive around people.
Most of the time you’ll find him resting quietly in his kennel. Yet the moment someone approaches, everything changes. His eyes brighten, his body lifts, and you can see just how much he wants that connection. Berkeley is a people dog through and through.
He’s very treat motivated and already knows sit, making him a great candidate for learning even more once he’s in a home.
In playgroup, Berkeley shows a gentle and dainty push-pull playstyle. Staff describe him as steerable, social, and friendly, though he often tends to keep to himself. When play does start, he plays well.
The shelter environment has been hard on him. Berkeley has lost weight since arriving and it’s clear that what he really needs is something the shelter can’t fully provide: his own person.
Berkeley needs a foster or adopter who can give him the comfort, stability, and companionship he’s been waiting for.
Because when someone walks by, he doesn’t just hope for a treat.
He’s hoping to be chosen.
