About: Cara is a perky-eared princess who came to PACC after likely being hit by a car. She has a bit of a hitch in her giddy- up, but has healed beautifully with the help of our shelter vets and clinic staff. Now, she’s ready to find a forever home!
Cara spent time in a couple of foster homes- here’s what her fosters said about her:
“Cara has obviously been in a home before because she seems to be fully potty trained (yay!). She loves to cuddle with us and slept in the bed overnight. She takes treats from us gently and desires lots of attention!”
“She's a great dog. I think a home with more people to spend time with her would benefit her. She has a lot of energy and is super sweet.”
“Cara is docile and loves being pet by literally anyone. People usually approach us and ask if they can pet her (kids included) and she is just super happy and calm.”
- Cara is housebroken and crate trained
- She hates the vacuum (so if you’re looking for a reason to avoid cleaning, look no further!)
- She loves stuffed toys
- She’s cuddly and affectionate
Here’s what Cara’s friends at the shelter have said:
“I walk Cara nearly every time I am at PACC. She is always well-behaved and happy to get time out of her kennel. Easy to leash and once outside, she loves to smell all the good smells. It is always an easy, relaxing walk with Cara.”
“Cara looks so good after her foster vacation! She is easy to handle and not reactive to other dogs. She's much more interested in sniffing throughout her walks than treats. She's an independent girl for sure!”
“We took Cara and her kennelmate for a walk yesterday. She was easy to leash and walked out of the kennel confidently. She knows ‘sit' but will only do it for high value treats (isn't she smart?). She still has a slight limp but it doesn’t seem to bother her.”
Cara is a sweet girl who sure does love her humans! When meeting other dogs in playgroup she was a bit forward with greetings and would do best with a tolerant dog in her future home. No cats please! Ask to meet Cara today!!

Available for foster care (2+ weeks) or adoption through PACC.
Interested parties:
Must visit PACC before the 3:00PM Saturday JUNE 14, 2025 deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with.

Home Management Plan
1) NO Cats:
• No cats due to issues in the foster home. Attempted to bite one, was hyper fixated and wants to chase them outside
2) Bite History:
• Minor bite to victim's lip when being petted. (Level 2)
3) DOG INTRO RECOMMENDED due to previous notes stating being forward with greetings, mounty/assertive and only semi respects corrections. Has the potential to tip with the wrong dog but is steerable by handler.
