Bio: “Marmaduke” was a comic strip that ran from 1954 to 2015. It featured the shenanigans of a goofy, loveable XL Great Dane. He had a good heart and loved his family but just couldn’t seem to keep himself out of trouble! We’d love to introduce you to our own “Duke” a big, sweet boy who has also shown himself to be a devoted family member, and a bit of a goofball in his own right!
Duke’s former owners were sad to give him up but told us that he is a playful boy who loves toys and car rides and did well with children and dogs of all sizes.
“Duke has the biggest smile I have ever seen on an animal. He loves luvins and tire toys. He can be laid back and wait his turn. He does listen very well and he's super smart.”
Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said:
“Duke is a good boy and he knows many tricks like “sit” and “watch me”. He’s attentive and comes to me when called. He loves running around in a yard with his kennelmate and it’s so much fun to watch him play. He enjoys cuddling after draining some energy. He’s easy to leash and walks well.”
Another volunteer took Duke home for the day and shared that he seems to be house trained, is a total foodie and is a friendly, loving handsome boy who loves walks.
Duke has shared his kennel and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident pups before heading home to ensure a good fit. Duke has so many sought-after very good dog traits- we know that the perfect, loving family must be just around the corner! We hope it's you!
