Bio: If you go to your favorite coffee shop and ask for a “caffè misto,” you will get a piping hot cuppa made by combining equal parts of brewed coffee and steamed milk. If you come to Pima Animal Care Center and ask for a “pupper Misto,” you will get a gorgeous, friendly brindle boy who wants nothing more in life than to hang out with his people!

Misto has a huge fan club, with volunteers sharing:

“Misto is a sweet songbird (song dog?) who wants to be with people! He is friendly and eager to get out of his kennel. Once in the play yard he is solicitous of affection and treats. He has a very nice “sit.” He is playful, friendly and fun!”

“Misto was relaxed today in his kennel. He cried with excitement when getting leashed up to go. We hung out in a play yard and he warmed up to me easily. He loves treats and pets.”

“I took Misto to the play yard and gave him a plushy/squeaky toy. He had a blast! Running with it, playing keep away, chasing it (when I could get possession), shaking it and even playing a little tug! It was so good to see him loose and carefree playing in the yard.”

“I took Misto for a walk in the park. We sat under a tree and had treats. Misto knows how to sit and pose very well! He loves to roll on the grass and get back scratchies. With some more time away from such an overstimulating shelter environment, Misto will do so much better and is such a sweet boy! He takes treats very gently.”

Misto is a pup who you need to meet to love; he can be anxious in his kennel and doesn’t “show well,” but the moment you get him out, you see what a playful, sweet, loveable pup he is!

Misto shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been playful and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. A staff member shared the following about his time in playgroup:

“Overall he opened up beautifully around other dogs and would likely do great in a home with a confident buddy to help him work on trusting people.”

Misto is looking for a furever home with a family who will give him time to decompress from the stress of shelter life and who will welcome him into their daily activities. He is a great boy who is dreaming of a family of his own!
