Bio: Kuri is a brave little guy who is learning to navigate life in the shelter. While it can be a bit overwhelming, he’s making progress when it comes to trusting his human friends! Kuri spent almost two weeks in a foster home where he was around other dogs, cats and kids. He needs to time to open up and feel safe, but will thrive with a patient family. Here’s what his foster told us:

- Kuri is nervous to be leashed but is a great walker once his leash is on
- One he opens up he loves pets and face rubs and even enjoyed getting kisses from the kiddos in the home
- He welcomes you home with endless tail wags
- He is energetic in short spurts and loves to zoom around the yard and play with toys
- Overall he is calm and relaxed in the home
- Kuri’s foster described him as adorable, silly, cautious but curious, and loyal
- Kuri was gentle with kids 8 and 11 years old

“Kuri would benefit from any loving home willing to give him time to warm up. It only took around 2 days to begin making huge strides. He did great with my adolescent children and my three cats. Kuri may be overwhelmed by any big/hyper dogs. Our dog is pretty easygoing, so he was able to open up fairly easily. He is good at relaxing in a dog bed for most of the day, but will gladly run around the house or yard when prompted to play.”

Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said:

“Kuri is a beautiful little boy who is making great strides! When he first came into the shelter he didn’t know how to walk on a leash; now he walks comfortably across campus with his handlers! I had him and his kennelmate out in a play yard today and discovered that Kuri loves the water!! I had dumped out a pool and he lay right down in the puddle, enjoying the coolness on a warm summer day! That was then his favorite spot in the yard as he lay and watched the world go by. He’s a tender, sweet little boy who would love a patient and understanding family who will give him time and space to warm up.”

Kuri would love to head to a home with a patient family who will help him continue to build confidence. He shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would likely benefit from having a calm, confident doggy pal to show him the ropes in his future home. Kuri is still just a pup at about a year old, so the sky is the limit! Ask to meet him today!!
