Bio: You may have heard of Fat Bear Week, a yearly contest where the Brown Bears of Katmai unknowingly compete for the title of most well- fed ursine. Well, since we had some buxom beauties of our own here at PACC, we decided to do Fat Bear Week too, and Bonanza was the winner! Here’s what one volunteer said:
"If you hadn’t heard, Bonanza won the unofficial FB Fat Bear Week contest at PACC (even though she’s a dog). Two of the chonkiest females and two of the stoutest males went up against each other and then the winners of those brackets went to the finals. If she was aware of this prestigious title, I’m sure she would be both honored and a little offended because she’s not fat. She’s just big boned. She shares her kennel politely with a much smaller male and is always happy to see humans! She would much rather hibernate in a nice cozy home than in the shelter. She is the absolute sweetest baby brown bear.”
Bonanza was unceremoniously dumped outside the shelter gates on Labor Day (in case you didn’t know, that’s against the law…) A volunteer headed in to walk dogs saw her and scooped her up- she was on a busy road and the temps were high, so Bonanza was more than happy to hop right into the car! This friendly girl deserved much better that day, and deserves to spend the rest of her life as a cherished family member.
This friendly, goofy big girl loves every person she meets, shares her kennel politely, and has been social and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet Bonanza today!!
