Bio: Kimosabe (usually spelled Kemosabe) is a term of endearment often interpreted as "trusty scout" or "faithful friend”. Our gentle Kimosabe would like to be that for you- your faithful forever companion! He just needs a little help from you first- he needs time and patience to feel safe and adjust to life in a home; in return he’ll give you his unending devotion.
Kimosabe came to the shelter from a home with more than 20 dogs- an environment where each individual dog’s needs were not met. Kimosabe and his friends did not receive proper socialization and this young dog is not entirely sure what to make of humans. But, he’s made great progress in the shelter, learning important skills likes walking on leash and slowly coming to understand that a visit from a volunteer friend means time out of the kennel enjoying the fresh air and maybe even some tasty treats.
In his future home, Kimosabe will need a secure yard and a family that understands that he needs gentle, patient guidance as he navigates his new life. Kimosabe shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been tolerant and independent when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He may benefit from a calm, confident furry companion who can show him the ropes. If you can offer this deserving boy the life he needs to thrive, please ask to meet Kimosabe today!
