Bio: Kekoa is a Hawaiian name that means “the brave one” and it definitely fits this sensitive boy who has been so brave in the noisy hectic environment! Kekoa is a gentle giant who has quickly won the hearts of many volunteers here at the shelter. In fact, it seems like he captures hearts everywhere he goes- we were told that he wandered the streets for several months and the whole neighborhood knew him and banded together to keep him fed and care for him. They said that he did well with teenagers, accepted treats nicely and enjoyed pets. Kekoa can be a bit on the cautious side, but he has a huge heart- here’s what volunteers and staff have said:
“I absolutely adore Kekoa. He’s gentle, mellow, and so handsome. He was a bit shy when he first arrived but has really opened up and asks for and enjoys pets now, leaning into me when we spend time in a play yard. He does great with a kennelmate, walks beautifully on leash, and is just the best boy.”
“I brought Kekoa to clinic and he was such a good sport; a very sweet boy. He walked super well and we were able to hang out while I gave him pets. Very sweet, shy boy; love seeing his progress!”
Kekoa shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet this brave boy today!
