A woman named Attica Locke wrote a book called “Guide Me Home.” Maybe someone seeing this will guide me home! My name is Attica, and I’ve been waiting here for someone to take me home for over a year! I was found in an attic by a Paws and Claws volunteer back in April 2025. I am a sweet, gentle 2-year-old girl who was very shy at first, and it took me a while to feel comfortable around people. Thanks to a very nice lady who spends a lot of time with me, I am not so shy any more. I approach her when she sits on the bench in my room. I like when she pets me, but I don’t like being picked up. I LOVE Churus, and I enjoy playing with wand toys. I tolerate the rambunctious kittens in my room. Over the past year, I have made friends, and I’ve had a couple of very close kitty friends, but they’ve been adopted, and I have been left behind. I get along with the other cats, and I would probably do fine with older children. I can become overwhelmed and will back off quickly when approached too quickly, so I should probably not go to a home with very young children or toddlers. If you are an understanding, patient person who is willing to give me time to get to know you and feel comfortable in my new environment, make me feel welcome yet give me space when I need it, I will be happy to finally, at long last, have a home of my own as your lovable Attica girl.
