I am a female, black and white Domestic Shorthair mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 3 months old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 21, 2025.
I’m Dory, a lovely 2-year-old tuxedo girl who came to Paws and Claws in July 2025. You know the saying, “Time flies when you’re having fun”? Well, yes – and no. More than a year ago! Shy cats tend to get overlooked, but that doesn’t mean we’re not lovable. Staff and volunteers agree that I am quite cautious and shy and that I do not like to be picked up. I do like being petted, but you need to read my body language. I recognize people, and I miss them if they're not around. I like if you sit by me and pet me when I’m lounging by the window. I don’t like being petted when I’m in the cubby in a cat tree though. Offering me Greenies Feline Dental Treats helps; I LOVE them! They’re the only treats I’ll eat! I prefer dry food too; maybe I’d try wet food if I didn’t have to share out of a dish with the other cats and kittens. I am very food motivated, and one volunteer recommended that I might like it if my adopter would sit by me while I eat. That will help build a positive association between that person and food. I like playing with wand toys, but now there are so many rambunctious kittens in my room that I get overwhelmed. I am a smart, observant girl who knows exactly what is going on in my room; I prefer quiet interactions and playtime on my terms. Once I come out of my shell, I likely will be more playful and accept pets and affection from my people. I just need to find someone who will be patient and understanding and provide a structured environment where I can thrive. If we can make a connection, you will love Dory, and we’ll get along swimmingly.
Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax
