Meet Ace, a 5-year-old terrier mix with a tender heart and a quiet hope for a fresh start. Ace came from a challenging living situation and is still discovering that the world and the people in it, can be safe. He may take a moment to warm up, but once he does, you’ll see a gentle, sweet dog who wants nothing more than to feel secure. Ace enjoys calm, gentle affection and enjoys just hanging with his people. Because he can become overstimulated, he does best with patient, dog-savvy humans who can help him stay relaxed and confident. Ace responds well to respectful dogs who listen to his cues and would do best with a balanced canine sibling and an experienced adopter who understands proper introductions. Ace would thrive in a home with teens and up, where patience and consistency allow him to continue building trust at his own pace. With time, understanding, and love, Ace is ready to blossom into a devoted, loyal companion.
