Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Dec 12, 2025.
Meet Callie, a 4 year young Terrier mix whose greatest joy in life is people. Callie is the definition of a lovebug. From the moment you meet her, she seeks connection with soft eyes, gentle kisses, and that irresistible “mushy” affection where she presses her whole head into your hands like she’s known you forever. She’s easy to handle, enjoys all of the pets, and will happily lean into you for attention. She walks beautifully on leash with no pulling, even around distractions, and knows her basic cue like "sit." Callie can get jumpy when she’s excited or seeking affection, but she responds well to clear, consistent boundaries and gentle redirection. Callie has shown no guarding behaviors in shelter assessments, but her previous home did report some food guarding, so she’ll do best with structured mealtimes and continued guidance. Around other dogs, Callie is more people focused and has shown controlling behaviors, so she may prefer to be the only dog or live with a calm, compatible dog under proper introductions and management. She is looking for a home with experienced, older kids who understand her need for boundaries and who are ready to give (and receive) lots of affection. If you’re searching for a deeply loving companion who wants nothing more than to be close to you, Callie is ready to fill your heart and your lap.
