Located At: Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter
Description: My name is Brooks.
I am a male, brown and white Terrier mix.
I am a male, brown and white Terrier mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since May 02, 2026.
Brooks is a 4 years young Terrier mix, who is a sensitive soul with a gentle heart who’s still adjusting to shelter life after coming in as a stray. Though initially cautious in new situations, he quickly begins to soften with patience, tasty treats, and kind reassurance. Once comfortable, Brooks leans into affection, takes treats ever so gently, and absolutely enjoys getting out for sniffy walks where his personality really starts to shine. He’s especially curious about squeaky toys and seems eager to play once he gains a little more confidence. Brooks is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give him the time and encouragement he needs to fully blossom into the sweet companion he’s meant to be.
