Zero (A566596) has been with us for over a month now and is officially one of our long stays. He is a dog who is far too good to be overlooked, but his biggest hurdle is something that is easy to misunderstand if you only see him inside the building. When you walk by his kennel, Zero can be kennel brave. If someone approaches too quickly, he may bark or growl, and we know that can make people walk right past him.
But this is not who Zero is. Outside of his kennel, he is an excellent boy who is gentle, sweet and far more interested in sniffing the yard than anything else. It is likely that his kennel has become the only place that feels like his personal space, so he tries to protect it the only way he knows how. Give him even ten seconds away from that door and he becomes a completely different dog.
Zero enjoys toys, loves exploring and has tested well with female dogs. He is playful, respectful and happiest when he gets a chance to stretch his legs and enjoy a little freedom. If you are visiting and want to meet him, please ask a kennel attendant to help you. Once he is in a meet and greet room or outside in the yard, you will understand exactly why we love him.
He deserves someone willing to see the dog behind the kennel door and give him the chance he has been waiting for.
Zero is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs 50 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.
