Meet Colette (A567616) arrived just a little over two weeks ago, and she is one of those dogs who steals your heart quietly.
At first glance she may bow her head or tuck her tail, unsure of what to expect from new people or new places. Do not let that shy introduction fool you. Once she realizes she is safe, she softens almost instantly. Colette is a genuinely good girl who wants nothing more than a person who speaks gently and moves through the world with kindness.
On a leash, she is an absolute dream. Colette walks with ease and rarely pulls, which makes her a wonderful companion for anyone who enjoys quiet strolls or steady neighborhood walks. She has also been tested with other dogs and did very well in a larger play group. She seems to respect other dogs’ boundaries and interacts calmy to not overwhelm her playmates. She may not run straight into the crowd at first, but she holds her own beautifully and shows how sweet her spirit is.
Colette is ready for her person. Someone who sees past the initial shyness and recognizes the loyal, gentle dog waiting on the other side of it. She is the kind of companion who blooms when loved, and she deserves the chance to do exactly that.
Colette is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 48 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.
