More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 21, 2026.
Kash (A569798) is still here waiting on a forever home.
Kash has carried far more loneliness than any dog should ever have to. He was abandoned not once but twice, and that kind of history leaves marks you cannot see but he certainly feels. It is no surprise that he struggles with trusting new people. Kash is trying so hard to understand that humans can be kind. He wants to believe it, and he needs someone who will meet him with patience, gentleness and compassion.
We have already shared Kash once, and today we are sharing him again in hopes that this may be the moment someone finally sees him. Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters, and dogs who come across as cautious are usually passed by even faster. Kash deserves better than to be skipped over.
He already knows several basic commands including come, sit and his name, although he sometimes forgets and needs a soft refresher. Kash walks well on a leash and is housetrained. He plays wonderfully with female dogs and truly thrives around them. He should not live with male dogs.
When meeting strangers Kash can be shy and cautious, but treats help tremendously in building trust. Once he feels safe he becomes a deeply loving companion who just wants to stay close to his person.
Kash is estimated to be around 1 year old and weighs 52 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.
Ready to meet Kash? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID
