Located At: Indianapolis Animal Care Services
Description: My name is Venus and I am a spayed female, tan and white Pit Bull Terrier.
Age: I am about 6 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Apr 29, 2026.
Venus has a way of winning people over once you spend a little time with her. Outside of the kennel, she has shown herself to be a friendly, affectionate girl who enjoys being with people and soaking up attention. Volunteers describe her as easy to walk, sweet-natured, and happy to spend the day exploring parks, relaxing in the sunshine, or curling up for a nap in the car. She seems to appreciate life's simple pleasures: a good walk, a warm spot to lounge, plenty of belly rubs, and hearing that she's the prettiest girl around.
Like many dogs, Venus can find shelter life frustrating, and she makes it clear she'd much rather be out making memories with people than waiting behind a kennel door. Once she's away from the noise and commotion, her softer side shines through. She has been described as respectful, easy to handle, and interested in the world around her without being overly demanding. Venus feels like the kind of dog who is ready to leave shelter stress behind and settle into a home where she can trade pacing for peaceful naps, daily adventures, and all the affection she can get.
All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter's care.
