I am a spayed female, brown tiger Domestic Shorthair.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Jul 31, 2026.
Meet this sweet but shy tabby cat, Hero!
Unfortunately, Hero was surrendered after Coho Apartments changed their pet policies. At 4 years old, Hero is finding herself at JAR with no home in sight.
Hero has a hard time introducing herself to new people, so her initial photo seemed a little... fearful. We seem to have better luck when speaking in a high voice and with gentle touches, so we were able to get a few better photos of her!
We are unsure if Hero gets along with other pets. We tried her in the yellow room this morning with two friendly cats, but she was afraid of them getting closer, and she became defensive about her space. In her defense, Inky is a little clingy!
Animal visitation is available every day except Tuesday, from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. Closed Sundays.
Interested parties can find our adoption application at:

Please send a completed application to our Adoption Counselor at adoption@akjar.org
