I have been at the shelter since May 10, 2026.
About Me: June is a shy and sensitive soul who is looking for a patient and understanding home. She is a fearful girl who relies on a slow approach, but she has a major weakness for tasty treats! While she was initially hesitant to put on a leash, the enticement of some treats quickly won her over. Once leashed, she was eager to get out of her kennel and likes to gently lead the way on her walks. This sweet girl just needs someone who is willing to give her the time and patience necessary to decompress. Once June warms up to you, she likes to stay close by—especially if you have the beef jerky or freeze-dried liver treats she loves so intensely!
She is a clever girl who will show you she knows how to sit, and she also knows how to lay down, though she sometimes needs a gentle reminder to show off her skills. Playtime is a great way to bond with June. She loves to chase soft squeaky toys and will even proudly pick one up and carry it away. She also enjoys chasing after a ball, though she prefers the chase over the retrieve! June is a sweet girl who truly blooms once she feels safe and secure with her person. If you think you have the time and patience for a sweet girl, then come and meet her! If you think you need more time to decide, ask staff about the foster field trip and foster programs. These are great ways to give June a much-needed break from the shelter and a chance for you to get to know her in a home setting.
