About Me: Could you be the Goose or Charlie to this Maverick? Maverick arrived at the shelter on May 8th as an unclaimed stray, and while he’s still settling in, this handsome guy is already showing plenty of promise. He can be a little shy at first, but Maverick quickly figures out who his friends are — especially if treats are involved. A few tasty snacks and some gentle encouragement and he'll be singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" with you in no time! Like Tom Cruise in 1986, Maverick is a dashing fellow by just about anyone's standards! With his beautiful markings, Maverick definitely stands out from the crowd, but he doesn’t let his good looks go to his head. He’s sweet, approachable, and eager to connect once he feels comfortable. Whether he already knows basic commands or not is still a bit of a mystery, but his food motivation and willingness to engage suggest he should be a fun and rewarding dog to train. Maverick is looking for a home that will give him a little patience as he builds confidence and discovers just how good life can be. If you're looking for a loyal wingman, look no further! He's available for foster, adoption, or foster field trips.
