Tugboat is a 1-year-old, 45-pound Pit Bull mix who is looking for a home where he can relax, build confidence, and let his goofy personality shine! This sweet young guy can be timid and easily startled by unfamiliar sights and sounds, but once he feels comfortable, he seeks affection, leans in for scratches, enjoys toys, and has shown that he knows “sit.” He walks nicely on a loose leash but may need some gentle encouragement when something makes him nervous. Tugboat has also been playful around other dogs, including offering a play bow when seeing another dog in the hallway, though he has not had a documented formal dog-to-dog interaction. Tugboat has made encouraging progress since his nervous arrival, but the shelter environment can still be overwhelming for this sensitive youngster. A home could give him the chance to decompress, gain confidence, and show everyone the affectionate, playful dog hiding underneath those nerves. If you have a little patience, plenty of treats, and room for a sweet young pup who just needs some reassurance, Tugboat would love to sail out of the shelter and into your home!
