Kaia is a beautiful girl who has been waiting for her forever home since arriving at the shelter as a stray on March 4, 2025. Though she has a sweet spirit, the constant noise and chaos of the shelter have taken a toll on her, and she is ready to find a loving home where she can truly decompress.
Kaia is a dog who needs a specific kind of support to thrive, particularly with other dogs. While she is dog-selective, she has been making wonderful progress in playgroups. With the right canine partners, she has even been able to get her muzzle off. Her past has given her some impulse control issues, and she can come in a bit hot and assertive with other dogs, but she is learning. She is also reactive when walking past other dogs in the kennel area.
When she's away from the overstimulating shelter environment, Kaia's true personality shines. During a recent outing, she rode well in the car, and her excitement was focused on having fun. She loves playing fetch and can be a playful, loving companion. While she does have some manageable pulling on the leash, her enthusiasm is infectious.
Kaia needs a home that can provide a routine and structured environment where she can continue to learn and grow. With the right person by her side, Kaia can leave her shelter stress behind and become the best version of herself.
