DOG DAY OUT INSIGHTS:
"Me and Megan hiked Occoneechee and she was amazing! So many people stopped to tell her what a good girl she was and I couldn’t agree more, she is the sweetest girl ever."
"Megan came and stayed with us for a 2-day sleepover. She was a joy to have. She’s extremely intelligent, well behaved, and was so polite in our home. She’s mid-size, and is not a dog who knocks things over or makes a mess. She engages eye contact, is very attuned to her people, or person. She does not jump. She waits for permission to get on the couch or bed. She knows “sit”. She is very good with “no”, or even just a slight lowering of tone of voice. She is a love bug. Absolutely loves to snuggle, wants to be right next to you. She loves lounging with her people. She’s happy to play also…will go get a toy if you throw it, enjoys tug of war. She hasn’t gotten the return part of fetch down yet but it would be easy to teach her, she’s super smart. She knows “go for a walk” and “go for a ride”. She’s excellent in the car…there’s no frantic pacing or whining. She sat in the backseat totally happy. I mostly took her for walks on trails, once I ran with her for 1/2 mile to see how she’d do. She paced beautifully. This girl is gentle and sweet. She was happy to use the crate when I had an appointment to go to. I feel sure she’d be fine to sleep in a dog bed, or whatever you asked of her. I let her sleep on my bed and she gladly curled up next to me and never moved an inch all night."
"Megan is a wonderful dog. We took her on a 3-mile hike at Blackwood Farm Park. She hopped right into the car and immediately snuggled up with me on the back seat. She loved hiking through the woods and meadows at the park, and kept up a good pace, only stopping occasionally to check out something on the side of the trail. She was pretty good on the leash too, pulling lightly when excited, but always stopping and turning back when we said her name. It is clear that Megan really loves people - she accepted us immediately and didn't show any anxiety at all. We didn't see any other dogs, but Megan was very happy to meet a middle school age girl, and seems very good with children. She clearly loved being on a Dog Day Out adventure. She is a lot of fun to be around because she is so happy and affectionate. We really enjoyed our time with her."
Dog Day Out Personal Information: Megan enjoys hikes and walks in wooded areas where she can smell all the things! We noted Megan is fine walking by dogs as long as they do not get into her personal space. She'd be best as an only dog. Megan would also prefer not to live with cats either.
