Hi! My name is Braille. I am incredibly sweet and I love slow walks around the house, cozy couch cushions and sleepy snuggles. I love to groom my white mittens and enjoy a good brushing of my black velvety coat. I love to eat and my daily acupuncture of insulin! I do have diabetes and am FIV +, but the shelter can teach you all you need to know to care for me-it is all easy once you learn. I have been wonderful for all my foster families but I am looking for a partner to share my snuggles with furrrrrever! Best meow wishes- Braiile

Here is what her foster has to say:

"Meet Braille — the cat who has everything figured out.

She arrived at the shelter with impeccable manners, a flawless litter box record, and an opinion about where the best sunny spots are. She's six years old, which means she's past the chaotic kitten phase and fully into her elegant era.

Braille is a striking tuxedo lady with luminous green eyes and — her most talked-about feature — remarkably large polydactyl paws that she deploys with great flair. Ernest Hemingway famously kept polydactyl cats for good luck. We're just saying. Those magnificent paws also make for world-class biscuit-making. Her kneading is so exceptional that her foster moms have taken to calling her Biscuit. She answers to both.
She has a small medical footnote: Braille is diabetic and receives a low daily dose of insulin. She takes her shot without complaint, like the composed, dignified soul she is. Her condition is well-managed and fits neatly into a twice-daily feeding routine — in exchange for years of devoted companionship.
Braille approaches every person she meets with curiosity and warmth. She's sociable with other cats and small dogs. She loves a good scritch — hands, feet, she's not fussy. She wants to be near you.
Despite her name, her vision is perfect. Her judgment about people, equally so.
If you're looking for a graceful, settled, affectionate companion who asks for very little and gives back enormously — Braille is ready to come home."

"Braille is social, curious and can definitely bond with her owners. The first week, she slept at the foot of my daughters bed. She now sleeps right by her head. She LOVES to play with a long string or toy she can chase. She is at heart a very mellow kitty. She will do anything for a treat! She's thrived in our home, gained a pound and a half and is fine with loud teenage kids running around her. I love that she has trusted us and has relaxed and had a chance to enjoy the 'good life'. It brings us joy because she was found in a very bad state with a wounded shoulder."
