Meet sweet Mancha!

Notes from fosters and adventure buddies:

"Mancha was a total couch potato in the best way! She was super calm and cuddly, and once I helped her onto the couch she stayed snuggled up with me. I love how calm she is! She takes some time to open up, and she can be timid with new experiences, but this makes it even more special when she gets comfortable with you and snuggles right up!"

"Mancha is a very shy/fearful girl who will need plenty of love, care, and patience to warm up to a family. We had her for 6 days and while she opened up to me (Asking for pets, getting excited and wagging her tail when I greet her in the morning, etc) she is still quite jumpy/scares should anything spook her. She seems to be the most calm/open to affection in the evenings.
Daytime: She will mostly sit in the same room (As time passes she will pop her head out but will run back in). She prefers to stick to the edges of the walls. She had no accidents while with us and walked 2x per day (Plus some leashed time in the backyard)
Nights: She was placed in a kennel and did great with it. It almost seems to be a place of comfort/security for her. And it keeps her from getting into things she should not get into!
Pets/attention: Always best to approach with hand under her chin never above her head. If you can get down to her level she will feel more comfortable. When trying to get her to come to you, sit along the edge of a wall and pat your legs. Note: She loves to be scratched on her neck/under her jaw - Doesn't seem to enjoy butt scratches.
Walks: Getting her out of the house can be a challenge as she gets nervous about going through the doors but once we are on the walk she does a good job. She does get spooked if other dogs bark at her or other loud noises - However she will try to jump into an open car should she see one.
Other animals: Mancha did great with our small dog and our cat - She essentially co-existed with them and only gave a gentle sniff when allowed. If the dog/cat reacted in anyway she would back off and hide.
Treats: No treat or food motivation in general. She did seem to like the chicken and duck food from pedigree we gave her (only one she ate right away)
Meds: Will not take her meds if it's in the food bowl. You need pill her.
My favorite thing about Mancha is that, when she starts to slowly warm up to you, the way she asks for attention is very cute. She will stretch and then place her front paws on your lap and then keep scootching a bit closer if you stop."
