Insights from my foster friends and adventure buddies:
"Panfilo is an amazing dog! He is so sweet and gentle. ...He’s not a barker and is generally unbothered. Overall we loved having him for the day and it was super hard to bring this sweet pup back. We went on a long walk to a restaurant and around UNC campus. He loved meeting strangers but was not so eager that he jumped or barked. He chilled at our home for a bit and eventually settled down. He has a contagious smile and energy. He is the sweetest most gentle dog and loves getting loved on."
"I had the pleasure of spending the day with Panfilo — what a gem! Panfilo is calm and easygoing but not checked out. He’s got a quiet curiosity about him, taking in the world at his own relaxed pace. He wasn’t reactive to anything: other dogs, sounds, movement, and strangers were all met with the same serene indifference. If you’re looking for a dog who won’t spike your blood pressure, this is your guy. But perhaps the most remarkable thing (especially for a German shepherd): not a single bark or whine the entire day. He settles in, he explores gently, and he’s present without being needy. An absolute angel. Whoever adopts Panfilo is getting a truly special dog. We walked around a couple of different parks/neighborhoods and chilled out at home for a bit. We spent at least an hour in the car over the course of the entire day. He’s so incredibly well behaved! Doesn’t react to anyone or anything. No barking or whining either. Just a super chill guy who likes to be out and about! I thought his age might hold him back but he’s as curious as a puppy with plenty of energy for walks."
