Insights from my foster:
Dobby (Born May 1, 2026). Not all of the tiny kittens in this litter survived, but Dobby and sister Lily were the fighters. They both slept well, ate to their fill and are at a place that all they know is human touch and the soft stomach to cuddle into of my 2yr old shih tzu poodle, Zoe.
Dobby is the quieter and lets Lily take the lead. His ears and eye opened 3 days after Lily. His whiskers are just now starting to show. He loves to cuddle by the neck and has a load purr. Still bottle-feeding but will be moving toward a kitten soup soon. Yet to be transitioned using litter box - all this being done according to training for such a young kitten. Currently doing well!
At 40 days old, getting bigger and more curious about life. Standing on his legs steadier and loves to get out of crate and run around with my puppy. He is almost off the bottle completely but still likes a small amount of bottle with cuddles after eating wet food. He, like his sister Lily, are just a wonder after such a rough 1st day of life. They are both starting to use litter box (with some misses) but learning fast.

"53 days old now and very much coming into his own... loves to run around living room and explore and play hide and seek with my pup. He is curious but cautious also. He is now eating totally kitten food, drinks water, eats kibble when he feels like it and uses the litter box 100% of the time with no accidents. Dobby has been exposed to all kinds of dogs and people and children and loves everyone around him. When he first opened his eyes, he saw me and my puppy and that has been his world .. No fear of anything even the vacuum and hair dryer after baths. Loves to be held and purrs all the time. Happy and wide eyed about life and will be an amazing pet and companion for anyone.
Loveable and curious and getting bigger each day. His eyes are big with wonder, and he loves to be held and cuddled. He is going to be the most amazing pet and companion for a child or adult. Like his sister Lily he has learned the routine of the house so fast and loves to have time to roam around the living room with my pup. Like Lily I have been raising Dobby since he was 2 days old and so afraid that they would not make it.. but these 2 have been survivors and love life - making me smile and laugh every day. Dobby's big eyes are full of wonder, and his curiosity is elf like in nature making him a little even more fun. He is going to be an amazing pet for any child or adult."
